Cause
The employee has been terminated: they are read-only and accept no new operations, such as clocking in, being assigned a schedule or an absence policy, having an absence that runs past their termination date approved, or being invited to the portal. Nothing was written.
What to do
Check the employee status with GET /v1/companies/{company}/employees/{employee}. If they are still working, reactivate them first with POST /v1/companies/{company}/employees/{employee}/reactivate. Their time entries and absences remain readable, and the days they were employed can still be corrected while the month is open.
