invoice_type_change_not_allowed
Only a draft can switch between a complete invoice (`F1`) and a simplified one (`F2`). A corrective invoice, a substitute invoice (`F3`) or a corrective invoice of a simplified one (`R5`) keep their type, and a simplified invoice without a client cannot become a complete one until you set the recipient.

Cause

What to do
If param is client_id, send the client in the same request as the type. If it is type, the invoice is no longer an editable draft or is not an F1/F2: issue another invoice of the type you need.
